The house was developed around the needs of a young family, and the desire for a bright, airy, but private home.
The site is located along a busy road in a village in Co. Kerry, and “fills the gap” between existing houses. The front elevation needed to be in-keeping with the neighbouring older houses, while also being contemporary in design. The use of local materials was important, such as limestone from the nearby quarry, as well as the use of natural, durable materials that would stand the test of time.
